Day 1: Victoria Falls

Upon arrival at the Victoria Falls International Airport, you will be met by an Exec Africa Travel and Tours guide and you will be transferred to the lodge. Your tour starting point will be situated in Victoria Falls and the starting time will be 3:00 p.m. You will finish your day with a spectacular sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.

Day 2: Victoria Falls

After breakfast, you will enjoy a walking tour of the Victoria Falls. You will stop at various vantage points to view the falls and walk through the rainforest whilst witnessing the rainbows and feeling the spray and thundering noise of water falling into the gorge. The rest of your afternoon will be spent at leisure where you can book one of many activities with your guide. In the evening, you will go to Boma to have an unforgettable African experience infused with Zimbabwean cuisine, the buffet Boma dinner before your tomorrow's early morning transfer to Hwange National Park.

Day 3: Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park

This morning after having a hearty breakfast, you will make the journey south to Hwange National Park. Home to the Big Five, Hwange National Park also offers a wide variety of plains, game, and birdlife. You will swap to open safari vehicles today for your afternoon game drive and make your way into the famed Hwange National Park for your game drive which is situated in the far west of the country. Hwange lies in the incredible belt of Africa, spreading out into the neighboring Botswana hence permitting animals (elephants in particular) to wander freely between Hwange and Chobe National Park. Aside from elephants, this park is home to more than 100 mammal species including Africa’s Big Five (made up of leopard, lion, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), as well as plenty of giraffes, cheetahs and brown hyenas. The reserve is also famous for its high concentration of wild(painted) dogs.

Day 4: Hwange National Park Full-Day Game Drive

 

You will have an early morning game drive in Hwange National Park. Tea and coffee are served before the game drive or during the game drive. After the game drive, you will have your full breakfast from around 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the best time to see the big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Later in the afternoon, you will embark on an afternoon game drive.

Day 5: Hwange National Park to Bulawayo

After breakfast, you will depart for Bulawayo which is the second largest city in Zimbabwe with wide tree-lined streets and surrounded by beautiful parks. Within the city, there are many examples of early Victorian buildings which are maintained by the Bulawayo City Council as heritage sites. You will learn more about this beautiful city by visiting the Bulawayo National Museum before or after checking into your lodge.

Day 6: Matopo National Park Full-Day Game Drive

 

You will spend the day exploring Matobos National Park with a local guide. The Matobo Hills are sculpted by the strong winds in the area and are the site of various intriguing Bushman paintings. This park contains an exceptional cultural and spiritual significance to the indigenous people populating this region. The reserve contains the highest population of leopards and black eagles in the world, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for these magnificent animals. The park received recognition as a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in 2003 and includes an intensive protection zone that is home to both black and white rhinoceros. It is named after the Ndebele word “Matobo “, which means “bald heads” and refers to the rounded granite hills that surround it. You will return to Bulawayo and stay for the night.

Day 7: Bulawayo To Great Zimbabwe

You will be departing from Bulawayo, making your way towards the east of the country to the small town of Masvingo. Close-by to the town of Masvingo is one of the most crucial archaeological sites in the whole of Southern Africa. The Great Zimbabwe monument which dates back to 1200AD was once the home of around 10,000 indigenous people and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area has exceptional importance to the country which took its name. Legend has it that this was indeed the very first city in which the famous Queen of Sheba lived and fantastic archaeological discoveries have since unearthed. Gold coins and porcelain from places as far as Persia and China have been discovered, thus highlighting the significance that the city once had as a trading post.

Day 1

 

You will be picked up from your hotel(s) at 7:30 am before commencing with your transfer to the Zimbabwe border for your Victoria Falls day trip. After immigration formalities, you will then be driven to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe). Upon arrival in Victoria Falls you will then go for a guided tour of the Mighty Falls with your qualified tour guide who will give a brief history of the Falls themselves as well as detail other points of interest. It is a truly awe-inspiring experience—the sight, the sound, the smell; the humbling feeling of the Falls. No photograph can begin to depict the reality and nothing prepares you for your first sight. At 12:30 p.m. after your Chobe boat cruise, you will return to the Chobe Safari Lodge site for your lunch. After having your lunch and relaxing, you will go for your game drive around Chobe National Park. You will have a great opportunity to see large herds of elephants, buffaloes, impalas, zebras, and other predators during the Chobe game drive. At 4:30 pm, you will be driven back to the border for your transfer to Victoria Falls thereby marking the end of your tour.

Day 2: Chobe National Park

You can look forward to a world-class wildlife experience in Chobe Riverfront, close to Kasane. It is a wonderful place to see big elephants, big cats, hippos and plenty of action as wildlife comes down to drink by the riverbank. In the early morning, we will drive from Victoria Falls and pass through the Botswana border for the immigration formalities and then head to Chobe National Park.

On arrival, you will go on a guided game drive looking for wildlife and learning all about them from your professional guide. In the afternoon after lunch, you will go on a boat trip on the river in Chobe National Park. The chance of seeing wildlife on the islands and riverbanks is very high as is the likelihood of seeing large numbers of bird species. Elephants, buffalos, giraffes and hippos are common sightings with sable, leopard and numerous antelope also being regulars on guests' checklists.

After the boat trip, we will drive back from Chobe National Park to Victoria Falls town.

Day 3: Tour of The Falls, Helicopter Flight & Riverside Dining Experience

You will have a beautiful helicopter trip over Victoria Falls in the morning. The only way to experience the actual magnificence of the Victoria Falls is from above. The helicopters have specially constructed 'bubble-shaped' windows that allow for panoramic sight and excellent photography from all seats. Later, you will go for a guided tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls. You will pass the 'Big Tree' on the way, where you may stop and get pictures. Your guide will accompany you and provide a brief history of the Falls as well as other areas of interest and will gladly assist you with photography while visiting this most spectacular of waterfalls.
