8-Day Victoria Falls to the Okavango Delta Tour

The Okavango Delta is one of the world’s largest inland water systems. The Okavango Delta lies in the northwest of Botswana. Part of the Great East African Rift Valley system, the Okavango Delta is formed as the Okavango River flows into the Kalahari Desert from the Angolan highlands, creating a unique wetland, a huge oasis that sets the region’s rhythm with its annual pulses. The incredibly varied and rich eco-systems found in and around the Delta attract a stunning variety of wildlife.

Come with us this morning for a guided game drive. We love showing off the landscapes and wildlife of Chobe National Park, and part of the excitement is about never quite knowing which animals are going to appear. After your game drive you will then have your lunch and then get ready to go for your afternoon boat cruise in Chobe National Park. A boat cruise is the ideal opportunity to relax, sit back and see the animals come to you. Amuse bouche and snack platters are served while the sun sinks below the shimmering surface of the
    Zambezi.
  • A barman and three intuitive waiters anticipate guests’ needs, serving a selection of lively cocktails and imported premium spirits throughout their journey. The plush, cushioned furniture and high vantage point on the upper deck provide the ideal space to watch one of Victoria Falls famous sunsets. After the sun has sunk below the river line, dinner is served on the lower deck of the vessel, exemplifying the hallmarks of exquisite cuisine prepared on board by two Chefs.
  • The rich aroma of locally sourced, fresh ingredients wafts around diners as the dishes are plated. Time seems to stand still as the boat gently glides along to the sound of water lapping up against her sides. Far removed from the glare of city lights and noise, the moon and stars shine brightly in the sky and an atmosphere of mystery and romance envelopes the evening’s experience. The seven-course meal and all-inclusive drinks on board the luxurious Malachite are great value for money and promise an exceptional sunset dinner cruise experience in Victoria Falls.

This morning, you will go for a guided tour of the Mighty Falls. It’s a truly awe-inspiring experience – the sight, the sound, the smell; the humbling feeling that here indeed is nature’s supreme masterpiece. No photograph can begin to depict the reality and nothing prepares you for your first sight. En route to the Falls, you will be taken past the ‘Big Tree’ where you will stop and take photos. You will be accompanied through the rainforest by your qualified tour guide and raincoats are provided when needed.

In the afternoon, you will get to go on a guided game drive which is always a safari highlight. It's an especially good way to explore Zambezi National Park and get to know the wildlife that you will see.

This evening we'll be serving you a dinner to remember at the Boma Dinner & Drum Show. You will enjoy a four-course feast of local cuisine, then watch a lively performance of traditional drumming and singing, with plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Home to the Big Five, Hwange National Park also offers a wide variety of plains, game, and birdlife. You'll swap to open safari vehicles today and make your way into the famed Hwange National Park which is situated in the far west of the country. Hwange lies in the incredible belt of Africa, spreading out into the neighbouring Botswana hence permitting animals. You will enjoy spending more time in Hwange National Park. It's the kind of park that gets better the longer you're here.

There is no better way for you to see Hwange National Park than on the guided game drive we will take you on this afternoon. Get your camera and binoculars ready, sit back in our vehicle, and enjoy looking for the wildlife.

You will be heading down more safari trails in search of animals in Hwange National Park when we take you on a full-day guided game drive. This is the best thing about our safaris, and you will hopefully see many animals. You're going to love exploring Hwange National Park, which is in western Zimbabwe, close to the border with Botswana. There's so much wildlife action for you to look forward to around the waterholes, including incredible numbers of elephants. Zimbabwe's largest national park is home to the Big Five, along with giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, greater kudu, and various other antelope, and there's the possibility of seeing lions hunting elephants. Another reason why Hwange is so important is that it forms part of the five-country Kavango–Zambezi Trans-frontier Conservation Area.

The Great Zimbabwe monument which ages back to 1200AD was once the home of around 10,000 indigenous people, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area has exceptional importance to the country which took its name. Legend has it that this was indeed the very first city in which the famous Queen of Sheba lived and fantastic archaeological discoveries have since unearthed gold coins and porcelain from places as far as Persia and China thus highlighting the significance that the city once had as a trading post.
