Taking part in an adventure tour in Africa involves covering hundreds or thousands of kilometers and our tours are as much about this journey as they are about the destinations we visit. Use your time during these drives to talk to your fellow travelers, have a drink and take note of the world passing by your window. During this tour all you need to do is to take your watch off, sit back and enjoy the exquisite landscape of Africa.

Day 1 – Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park

This morning we first visit the rumbling and adventurous Victoria Falls National Park (The smoke that thunders) then we make the journey south to Hwange National Park. Hwange is the largest of Zimbabwe’s national parks and offers excellent opportunities for viewing the diversity of wildlife that calls the park home.

Day 2 – Hwange National Park

Early in the morning you will have an early morning game drive in the Hwange National Park. Tea and coffee is served before the game drive or during the game drive. After the game drive, you will have your full breakfast at around 09:30hrs to 10:00hrs and that’s the best time to see the big cats like lions, leopards and cheetahs. Late in the afternoon you will embark on an afternoon game drive.

Day 3 – Matopos National Park

After breakfast we continue south towards Bulawayo, the second largest city in Zimbabwe. Our afternoon will be spent exploring the Matopos National Park with a local guide. The Matobo Hills are sculpted by the strong winds in the area and are the site of various intriguing Bushman paintings. This park contains an exceptional cultural and spiritual significance to the indigenous people populating this region. The reserve contains the highest population of leopard and black eagle in the world, so we make sure to keep our eyes peeled for these magnificent animals. The park received recognition as a UNESCO natural World Heritage Site in 2003 and includes an intensive protection zone that is home to both Black and White Rhinoceros. Day 4 – Bulawayo to Great Zimbabwe Ruins

Departing from Bulawayo, we make our way towards the east of the country to the tiny town of Masvingo. Close-by to the town of Masvingo is one of the most crucial archaeological sites in the whole of Southern Africa. The Great Zimbabwe monument which ages back to 1200AD as once the home of around 10 000 indigenous people, A UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area has exceptional importance to the country which took its name. Legend has it that this was indeed the very first city in which the famous Queen of Sheba lived and fantastic archaeological discoveries have since unearthed gold coins and porcelain from places as far as Persia and China thus highlighting the significance that the city once had as a trading post.

Day 5 – Bulawayo

A leisurely departure from Gweru to Bulawayo. On arrival we check in at our accommodation and the afternoon is spent at Leisure.

Day 6 – Victoria Falls

Our last day is devoted to travelling back to Victoria Falls. Whilst on our way there, we pay a visit to the Hwange Painted Dog Conservation Project. Here you will be able to see the hard work and passion put into rehabilitating these wounded and orphaned wild dogs. This is an extremely worthy project to support as it protects a species of which only around 3 000 remain in Africa. We then proceed with our journey back to Victoria Falls whilst keeping our eyes peeled to catch some glimpses of wildlife alongside the road. Our tour comes to an end upon arrival at Victoria Falls and accommodation will be per own arrangement.
